Chief Development Officer: Cisco Systems Corporation interested in implementing new investment programs in Armenia

YEREVAN, November 12. /ARKA/. Cisco Systems Corporation is interested in implementing new investment programs in Armenia, Cisco Systems Chief Development Officer Mario Mazzola said Wednesday as met with Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan in Yerevan. Mario Mazzola has arrived in Armenia to receive the prestigious Global Award of the President of the Republic of Armenia for Outstanding Contribution to Humanity through IT 2014 (Global IT Award 2014). The awarding ceremony took place on November 12, 2014 at the presidential residence. The Armenian government’s press office reports that Abrahamyan congratulated Mazzola on receiving the award for his contribution to the global IT technology industry. The premier said that IT and digital technology industry is among the government’s top priorities, since it ensures competitive advantages to Armenia. In his words, this fast-developing industry shows a 20-to-25-percent growth every year and have prospects for further growth. Mazzola thanked Abrahamyan for a cordial reception, presented Cisco Systems’ activity, achievements and future programs to the prime minister and discussed with him further cooperation prospects. Abrahamyan said that Armenia’s government is successfully implementing a number of programs with many transnational companies, and as a result, many organizations establish their regional centers here in Armenia. The experience of successful cooperation with Cisco Systems that began in 2010 gives the Armenian government grounds for expanding it and supporting any initiative. At the end of the meeting Abrahamyan handed a watch to Mazzola as a gift. -----0----
