Classical Music Development Foundation begins new concert season
YEREVAN, September 7. /ARKA/. With the support from ArmenTel telecom operator (trading as Beeline) the Classical Music Development Foundation began a new concert season on September 6 at Komitas Chamber Music Hall in Yerevan with a concert dedicated to the 110th birth anniversary of Dmitry Shostakovich, performed by members of Khachaturian Trio.
ArmenTel CEO Andrei Pyatakhin congratulated the musicians and all lovers of classical music in connection with the start of the new concert season, saying in a press release that Beeline will continue ‘the productive’ collaboration with the Classical Music Development Foundation.
"We look forward to a lot of new and exciting activities that will contribute to the development of music in Armenia ", he is quoted as saying.
The Classical Music Development Foundation was founded in 2010 by Khachaturian Trio musicians. Its main activities include implementation of educational and charitable programs in the field of classical music. Beeline has been its sponsor since 2011.
The Foundation has opened this year a musical class for children in Armenia’s third largest town of Vanadzor, conducted by the trio’s cellist Karen Kocharyan. It is also supporting the recording of a disc with masterpieces of Armenian classical music.
Khachaturian Trio has been performing since 1999. It has performed in Switzerland, the UK, Austria, Australia, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Russia, Georgia, as well as in North and South Americas.
