Cloudflare to deploy data center in Armenia
YEREVAN, March 21. /ARKA/. Cloudflare, a US-based web performance and security company, said it will announce in the coming days deployment of a series of new data centers across five continents. The first one will be in Yerevan, the capital and largest city of Armenia. It will be the 37th data center in Asia, and 103rd data center globally, the company said in its blog.
Cloudflare said on its website that Armenian capital city Yerevan, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, has a rich history going back all the way to 782 BC.
‘Famous for its cognac, lavash flatbread, and beautiful medieval churches, Armenia is also home to more chess grandmasters per capita than most countries!”
The deployment of the data center will enable 6 million websites to be around 6 times more rapidly available for users in Armenia and surrounding countries, as Cloudflare will serve traffic to Yerevan and adjoining countries.
CloudFlare is a popular CDN-proxy, created in the USA in 2009. The network is based on an improved version of Nginx, and has more than 20 servers in different countries. -0-
