Cyber security forum to take place in Armenia in autumn
YEREVAN, May 26./ARKA/. A large cyber security forum will take place in Armenia in autumn, Armen Baldryan, the president of the Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies, said Wednesday in Yerevan at a meeting of the union board members with German Bundestag Speaker Edelgard Bulmahn.
“We have invited specialists from different countries to exchange experience, assess the situation and outline further steps,” he said.
Pointing out the necessity of strengthening Armenian-German relations in the information and communication technology industry, he said that the Union member companies are making joint efforts for coordinating legal, educational and human resources problems of the ICT.
At the guest’s request, Baldryan spoke on development of ICT industry, startup companies and cyber security in Armenia.
He told Bulmahn that some 100 startups were established in Armenia in 2015 alone thanks to legislative changes. Finding this result insufficient, Baldryan said that Armenia is in need of investments and venture capital and that the government should continue reforms for enhancing the country’s attractiveness.
It was decided at the meeting to discuss cooperation projects with the German embassy. ---0----
