DigiTec Expo 2014 opened in Yerevan
YEREVAN, October 3. /ARKA/. The tenth Digitec Expo 2014 opened today in Yerevan-Expo exhibition complex.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan was present at the opening of this three-day event and talked to its participants.
Digitec Expo is the most important event in Armenia’s technology area. The exhibition presents 13 sections.
Karen Vardanyan, executive director of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE), told journalists that 150 companies are taking part in Digitec Expo 2014. Of them, 120 present their own products. The Digitec Expo 2014 is believed to host some 30,000 visitors.
Vardanyan said that this international technology exhibition is one of the best platforms for professional orientation. The most modern solutions and technological education methods are presented here.
“DigiTec is also an opportunity to keep the finger on the pulse and to be in touch with technological innovations, since every year technology companies try to add something new,” he said.
Vardanyan said that this year DigiTec is concentrating its focus on children and young people, and therefore ‘Robotics in Daily Life’ festival and a contest of innovation ideas and Hackathon programming are being held as part of the event.
Participants of ‘Robotics in Daily Life’ festival are attendees of 60 engineering groups.
The Enterprise Incubator Foundation represents the Armenian-Indian Excellence Center, Armenian National Engineering Laboratory (ANEL), Microsoft Innovation Center, mLab ECA regional mobile applications laboratory and Gryumri Technology Centre.
Instigate Company presents new approaches to education, its own programs and laboratories developed on their basis and instruments and UCom Company shows its advanced TV and Internet solutions.
A job fair is organized as well. Technology companies are offering employment and are interviewing jobseekers here.
The event is organized by the Union of Information Technology Companies. UCom is its general sponsor.
