Drone contest winners already known in Armenia
YEREVAN, July 6. /ARKA/. Fimetech, ArmBGC and TSD teams have won the contest of drones conducted in Armenia as part of Armrobotics championship, the press office of the Union of Informational Technology Enterprises (UITE) reports.
The winner teams have successfully fulfilled the requirement – to reach the destination, throw a 300-gram cargo and fly back.
They received prizes – AMD 600,000, AMD 400,000 and AMD Airplane and RoboEchmiadzin have taken part in the competition as well.
The event was attended by David Pakhchanyan, Armenian deputy defense minister, as well as Daniel Balayan, the head of the military aviation institute of the defense ministry, Karen Vardanyan, executive director of the Union of Informational Technology Enterprises, Hayk Yesayan, CEO of Ucom, and other guests and participants.
The contest took place on July 2 in the training airport in Arzni with support from the UITE and the Ucom.
The aim of the contest is to develop robotics industry in Armenia and to attract the interest of young people who are able to contribute to military industry and technology.
Fimetech team won also Mine Picker Robot contest, which was hold in April as part of Armrobotics.
Armrobotics program was launched in 2008.
The Union of Informational Technology Enterprises was established in 2000 for protection of economic interests of IT companies and to promote development of IT industry.
Now dozens of IT companies are members of the union. --0---
