FAST raises $1 million in donations at Advance Armenia Los Angeles Gala-2023 event to develop artificial intelligence in Armenia
YEREVAN, May 29. /ARKA/. The Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST) has raised $1 million in donations at the Advance Armenia Los Angeles Gala-2023 event. The funds will be used to finance projects to develop artificial intelligence in Armenia.
"Thanks to our incredible supporters, we raised nearly $1 million, propelling us toward our mission of fostering transformative change and empowering scientific excellence in Armenia. This substantial contribution will directly empower two key projects: the ADVANCE research grants and the Generation AI educational program.' FAST said in a Facebook post.
The event was held on May 11 in Los Angeles. It was attended by FAST co-founder Dr. Noubar Afeyan, the event's keynote speaker, Nobel Laureate in Physiology and Medicine 2021, Dr. Ardem Pataputian. Dr. Mary Papazian, Chair of the FAST Advisory Board, and Suzanne Shamakhian, Vice President of Strategic Programming at FAST.
The ADVANCE project aims to provide comprehensive and long-term institutional and financial support to research groups in Armenia led by renowned international scientists.
The aim of the Generation AI program is to motivate students to pursue research and careers in AI. Generation AI, developed in collaboration with the Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, is to be introduced into the official curriculum of secondary schools in Armenia. --0--
