Final of ArmRobotics drones competition to take place in Yerevan in May
YEREVAN, April 19./ARKA/. The final of ArmRobotics drones competition will take place in Yerevan in May, the press office of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) reported on Monday.
The contest is benign conducted by the UIUTE in cooperation with Ucom Telecommunication Company as part of ArmRobotics, open championship of robots, which is aimed at encouraging and promoting Armenian specialists and spurring robotics industry in Armenia.
The contest consists of three rounds – registration, semifinal and final.
The registration stage began on November 8. At this stage, all authors of ideas got an opportunity to talk to experts who are also jurors at the contest to optimize their models.
They also got from the contest organizers all the necessary materials and details for constructing their robots.
The semifinal was conducted in February and March.
The winners chosen by the professional jury will receive a big money prizes from Ucom.
Armenia held its first ArmRobotics competition of drones in 2013. Five teams participated in the competition and presented their aircrafts that investigate territory, recognize signs, transfer images online, throw out loads of up to 300 grams and return them to the initial point.
The first ArmRobotics, open championship of robots, was held in Armenia in 2008 attracting 11 teams from Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and Iran.
The 2009 and 2010 contests consisted of several categories: Line Tracking, Competition of Robots Recognizing Objects by Color and Size, Marble Crossing and Minesweeper Robots. --0----
