Government earmarks 149.6 million drams for technology parks in Gyumri and Vanadzor
YEREVAN, November 1. /ARKA/. The Armenian government’s draft budget for 2018 earmarks 149.6 million drams for the development of technology centers in the second and third largest towns of Gyumri and Vanadzor respectively, Transport, Communications and Information Technology Minister Vahan Martirosyan said during a budget discussion in the parliament today.
He said the money will be used to ensure productive activities of technology centers in both towns, which are equipped with modern science-intensive and innovative infrastructures.
He added that in general, the government will allocate 98.6 million drams to stimulate the IT sector.
According to the Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF), the total turnover of Armenia-based ICT companies is above $600 million ($ 1 - 482.36 drams). -0--
