IT sector ready to show technological support to Armenian army
YEREVAN, April 13. /ARKA/. Armenian IT companies are ready to make every effort to provide technological support to the armed forces, Karen Vardanyan, the executive director of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) told reporters today.
"Arguments that the use of technology is too expensive are absurd. Quite the contrary, modern technologies are used to reduce the costs of military operations, to conserve resources and save lives. Until now little attention was paid to modern technologies in the Armenian armed forces,' said Vardanyan.
According to him, they will set up ad hoc groups, which will discuss different approaches and create prototypes.
He said IT sector has conveyed this idea to defense minister Seyran Ohanyan suggesting that cooperation between IT sector and the ministry be raised to the state level and also proposed to appoint a person in charge of army's technological development.
"Armenian officials should be held accountable for inactivity, which led to the victims in the latest Azerbaijani aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh," he said. -0-
