Japan to provide $10.3 million to Armenia for digitization of Public Television’s records
YEREVAN, March 31. /ARKA/. Armenia and Japan signed a grant agreement on Thursday to modernize the equipment intended for digitization of records of the Armenian Public Television, the press office of the Armenian ministry of transport, communication and information technologies reports.
The agreement was signed by Vahan Martirosyan, the Armenian minister of transport, communication and information technologies, and Eiji Taguchi, Japanese ambassador to Armenia.
According to the ministry’s news release, Japan’s government will provide $1.3 million to Armenia as grant for purchasing new equipment for digitalization.
After signing the agreement, Martirosyan stressed the importance of the document saying that the signing has become another step in development of economic and social cooperation between the two countries.
The ambassador, on his side, said that in 2001 Japan has provided assistance to Armenia for digitization of ancient manuscripts in Matenadaran museum. --0---
