Kaspersky says he is the most dangerous man for cyber criminals
YEREVAN, November 16. / ARKA /. The executive director of Kaspersky Lab Evgeny Kaspersky, the winner of the sixth annual Global IT (GIT) Award of the Armenian president, said on Monday in Yerevan that he is one of the ‘most dangerous and evil people’ for cyber criminals.
"They hate me. Those who are not engaged in cybercrime, receive my assistance. I give them THE opportunity to work in a quiet, safe, comfortable and clean environment "Kaspersky, who has arrived in Armenia to receive the award, told local journalists and representatives of IT-sphere.
Kaspersky said he not only provides anti-virus software, but also helps law enforcement authorities to track down and arrest cybercriminals.
"The targets of hackers, for obvious reasons, are most often the servers of public institutions, major banks, telecommunications companies. To stop them, the Kaspersky Lab cooperates with law enforcement agencies around the world, including the FBI and Interpol, "he said.
"We know more than we can tell. But sooner or later there comes a time when the police tell us: "Kaspersky - you can!". And then we tell the technical details," he added.
Evgeny Kaspersky is a Russian specialist in the information security field. He heads the global IT security company Kaspersky Lab, which was established in 1997. Kaspersky Lab now operates in almost 200 countries; with more than 30 regional and country offices worldwide, it is the world's largest privately held vendor of software security products.
The previous laureates of this award are Mario Mazzola, the Chief Development Officer at Cisco Systems, Inc.; Tsugio Makimoto, president of the Semiconductor Industry Association ; ex-chairman of the Board of Intel Corporation Craig Barrett, co-founder of Apple Computers, Inc. Steve Wozniak, and the chairman Emeritus of Sinaptics, Inc. Federico Faggin.
The GIT Award was established by the Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan in 2009 for outstanding contribution to humanity through IT (Global IT Award). The award highlights Armenia on the world IT map as a growing high-tech destination. It is granted on an annual basis to an individual whose internationally acclaimed contributions to IT have resulted in near-revolutionary or revolutionary developments that have positively impacted or hold the potential to positively impact the humanity.
