YEREVAN, February 27. /ARKA/. The key goal of cyber security in the Eurasian Economic Union member countries is to form information sovereignty, Gagik Harutyunyan, head of Noravank Scientific and Educational Foundation, said Friday in Yerevan at a round-table discussion held by the Eurasian Expert Club for Young Political Analysts and Experts in International Relations.
«Common history is a critical area of cyber security in the Eurasian Economic Union... It is very easy thing to manipulate nations that have no historical basis, and people of the Eurasian Economic Union countries have little knowledge of each other, and therefore it is necessary to create common cyber space,» he said.
«Revolution in information technology area (invention of Internet, mobile communication means etc) expanded technical room for psychological influence, and creation and development of the theory of cyber and network centric warfare enhanced a great deal methodology level and effectiveness of the measures which are being taken,» he added.
Harutyunyan said the second generation cyber warfare is especially widespread. Its top objective is to destroy the opponent’s system of values and to insert own cultural code here.
International nongovernmental organizations and their local duplicates, having considerable financial, lobbyist and organizational resources work influence and manipulate certain segments of the society.
«These factors together ensured massive manipulation of the consciousness of people, who rapidly changed not only their political orientations, but also their system of values,» Harutyunyan said.
He said Armenian society is ill-informed about the Soviet Armenia, but it is necessary to show also good, not only bad aspects of the then Armenia, since the present consumer society has far more bad characteristics than socialist society. --0--
