Microsoft invests $1.5 million in education programs in Armenia
YEREVAN, May 4. /ARKA/. Microsoft has invested more than $1.5 million in various educational programs in Armenia, Microsoft Chief General Manager for the Public Sector Business of Central and Eastern Europe Trudy Norris-Grey said on Wednesday in Yerevan.
Speaking at a conference titled "The fourth industrial revolution - the path to effective and innovative management" she said she was proud of all the achievements that Microsoft was able to secure in Armenia, including more than 200 start-ups and 2,500 students who received higher education in IT.
The conference was organized by the Armenian representation of Microsoft Corporation with the assistance of the government of Armenia. The purpose of the event was to present the world experience of application of innovations and high technologies for both government agencies and organizations.
Trudy Norris-Grey said Armenia is one of the four countries where Microsoft has created an innovation center.
She added that Microsoft Corporation intends to continue cooperation with the Armenian government to increase the number of start-ups and training IT engineers.
Microsoft Center in Armenia focuses on creation of new innovative products and services, formation of new and viable IT startups, and formation of information society. -0-
