Microsoft It Academy To Be Set Up At Engineering University Of Armenia
YEREVAN, December 21. /ARKA/. Microsoft Armenia and the State Engineering University of Armenia (SEUA) signed on Wednesday a memorandum to set up Microsoft IT Academy at SEUA. The document was signed by the head of Microsoft Armenia Grigor Barseghyan and SEUA rector Ara Avetisyan.
The memorandum provides for refresher courses for students and professors of SEUA who will be awarded international certificates of Microsoft. SEUA will be provided also an 80-90% discount when purchasing Microsoft software systems and information tools.Barseghyan told ARKA news agency that the IT Academy has been actually working for about two months already and the memorandum will expand the range of its activities. He added that Microsoft certification center will open at the Academy in 2012.
According to him, the students and professors will pay symbolic training fees. Barseghyan said the next plan is to introduce at SEUA the Live@edu system to give the university over 10 thousand free e-mail addresses.
Live@edu is an electronic mailbox in the domain of an educational institution, which also provides access to many useful services and applications that help to learn and communicate with friends.
The State Engineering University of Armenia (Polytechnic) was established in 1933. Since the foundation more than 110,000 people have graduated from it. –0--
