Ministry of economy suggests creating Cloud and Mobile Solutions regional center in Armenia
YEREVAN, November 11. /ARKA/. Armenia’s minister of economy Karen Chshmarityan suggested creating a regional center for cloud and mobile solutions in Armenia at his meeting with Microsoft head of government industry for worldwide public sector Mark Day. The minister proposed to continue cooperation with Microsoft to promote development of innovative environment through promising projects with Microsoft Yerevan office. The sides expressed readiness to ensure consistent efforts for mutually advantageous cooperation. A bilateral working group will be formed to discuss further steps and directions in cooperation and to obtain licensed versions of Microsoft packages for the Armenian public agencies. Agreements reached in the group will be included in a new memorandum to be signed with Microsoft. The sides also spoke about need for efforts to ensure use of licensed versions in Armenia’s public agencies, to expand joint programs in education, cyber security and to develop solutions for better efficiency of small and midsized enterprises in the local market. Armenia’s government and Microsoft Corporation have signed a new memorandum on mutual understanding at ArmTech Congress 2014 in New York to promote innovative projects aimed at IT development in Armenia. The memorandum also implies cooperation in legalization of intellectual property and software copyrights. Microsoft Corporation is cooperating with Armenia under the agreement signed on January 30, 2007 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Microsoft is implementing a number of investment, education and innovative projects in Armenia. The opening of Microsoft Innovation Center in Armenia is one of these projects. –0-
