Over 5,000 residents of Ararat province had their eyes examined
YEREVAN, June 9. /ARKA/. More than 5,000 adults and children from communities of Ararat, Artashat and Masis districts of Ararat province benefited from free eye care project as part of Bringing Sight to Armenian Eyes program, implemented by the Armenian EyeCare Project (AECP) with the assistance of Ucom telecom provider.
Ucom said in a press release that around 1,800 children and 3,300 adults in the mentioned communities had in-depth vision examination at the mobile ophthalmic clinic with 580 having laser vision correction surgery.
Another 160 people were donated glasses and 670 children from nine schools had their eyes examined. After June 13, the mobile ophthalmic clinic will continue the work in Vayots Dzor province.
‘Through our partnership, we can help many, including socially disadvantaged people, parents of large families, Armenians from Syria, the people who can not take care of themselves," Ucom CEO Hayk Yesayan said.-0-
