Rostelecom and Ucom include Artsakh TV into their networks of channels

YEREVAN, April 5. /ARKA/. Rostelecom in Armenia has included Artsakh TV- the public television of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) - into its network of channels, for subscribers in Armenia to follow developments in and around the Karabakh conflict zone.

In a press release Rostelecom said today the channel will be available to all subscribers of Smart TV service both in Yerevan and regions of Armenia.

It said all the news on military operations on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, as well as official statements, important events, can now be followed on the 142nd channel of Smart TV, which will broadcast the Artsakh TV.

Rostelecom said it will provide other operators in Armenia, providing IP TV, the opportunity to broadcast in the territory of Armenia and is also ready to provide operators with the necessary technical capabilities.

Ucom, another Armenian telecom provider, has also included Artsakh TV into the network of its channels.

GNC-ALFA, Rostelecom’s Armenian subsidiary, began promotion and sale of broadband Internet, IP-TV and a new generation of IP-telephony in Armenia under the brand of Rostelecom from 2012 December. The company’s fiber-optic network covers 80% of the territory of Armenia, extending to more about 3000 km.  The network is connected to the main regional backbones and major traffic exchange sites, as well as international channels via Georgia and Iran.

Rostelecom is one of the biggest national telecommunications companies in Russia and Europe, with a presence in every segment of the telecommunications services market and coverage of more than 34 million households in Russia.

Ucom (Universal Communications) was founded in 2007. It is engaged in providing telecommunications services. With assistance from Ericsson, the company created a broadband access network, providing Internet services, IP-TV and fixed telephony.  In 2015 September it acquired Orange Armenia, a former subsidiary of France Telecom. -0-
