Rostelecom Armenia helps Armenian doctors via telemedicine
YEREVAN, May 27. / ARKA /. Armenia’s Scientific Medical Library with the support of Rostelecom Armenia and Hayastan Pan-Armenian Fund has launched a telemedicine program designed to help Armenian doctors get acquainted with modern methods of treatment of various diseases.
The first web conference for physicians in the town of Kapan, the capital of the southern province of Syunik, was conducted Tuesday by Professor Ruben Fanarjyan who spoke on the modern treatment of strokes.
Rostelecom Armenia CEO, Hayk Faramazyan, said their company is the first in Armenia to provide the opportunity to carry out professional-level web conferences involving participants in Armenia and abroad.
He said this service provided for a monthly fee differs from other web conferencing systems because there is no need for participants to purchase expensive equipment. It also ensures reliable data protection unlike web conferences via Skype, because Rostelecom Armenia uses secure closed networks.
Head of HayBridge Teleelt, Gevorg Yagdjian, noted that the telemedicine program has been active since 2007 in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. He said studies have shown that Rosteleocm’s video conferencing system is the best.
According to Yagdjian, the focus of the web conferences will be on the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and cancer, which are the main causes of mortality in Armenia. The program plans to attract the leading Armenian doctors from Russia and the United States. ($ 1 - 413.35 drams). -0 -
