Rostelecom in Armenia comes out with clarification regarding Panarmenian Media Group’s statement
YEREVAN, November 2. /ARKA/. In a retaliatory statement today the Rostelecom in Armenia telecommunications operator made a clarification regarding a statement made earlier in the day by Panarmenian Media Group.
In the statement Panarmenian Media Group said it was starting large-scale negotiations with cable TV transmission operators to secure the broadcasting of Armenia TV, ATV and ArmNews TV channels, which was provided by Hybrid Solutions company. The company urged the operators to stop broadcasting of the mentioned television channels, or agree the terms of their retransmission with Panarmenian Media Group.
According to Rostelecom’s clarification, the retransmission in the company’s network in the territory of Armenia is carried out by the partner company Hybrid Solutions.
"Armenian TV channels have always been included and will be included in all package offers of Rostelecom free of charge", - the telecom operator said.
Rostelecom in Armenia said also that five television channels are included in its package "Social", in which Armenia TV, Public Television of Armenia, Second Armenian TV Channel, Kentron and Mir channels are available to all subscribers, even when services are suspended due to accumulation of debts.
‘Without having any reason Panarmenian Media Group ceased the retransmission from November 1, including in the Armenian network of Rostelecom. We would like to assure that GNC-ALFA (Rostelecom’s brand) attaches importance to any business process and always conducts negotiations with partners, acting within the framework of the Armenian legislation, "- the telecom operator said.
It also said that it is always ready to take part in the negotiations, especially when it comes to the interests and desires of its customers.
"In the interests of its customers Rostelecom hopes to quickly resolve this problem and is ready to make every effort for it ", - the statement said.
GNC-ALFA began promotion and sale of broadband Internet, IP-TV and a new generation of IP-telephony in Armenia under the brand of Rostelecom from 2012 December. The company’s fiber-optic network covers 80% of the territory of Armenia, extending to more than 2,500 km. The network is connected to the main regional backbones and major traffic exchange sites, as well as international channels via Georgia and Iran. -0
