Some 37 percent of devices in Armenia exposed to infection attempts
YEREVAN, June 6. /ARKA/. About 37% of devices used by Internet users in Armenia in January, February and March 2018, faced attempts of infection with malicious software , making Armenia the 7th country in this respect, according to the data of Kaspersky Lab, obtained with the help of Kaspersky Security Network (KSN).
According to the company, in the first quarter of 2017, some 29.02% of users' devices were exposed to infection attempts, as a result of which Armenia ranked 10th.
"Such a significant increase in attempts to infect the devices of users in Armenia via the Internet is caused by the increasing interest of cyber criminals in the country. They try to crack the sites which are interesting for Armenian users and plant malicious scripts and viruses for various purposes - hidden crypto currency miners, encryptors, extortionists, personal and banking data theft software and much more," said Armen Karapetyan, a Kaspersky Lab representative in Armenia and Georgia.
According to him, following the rules of using the network and effective anti-virus web module help to protect against the threats of infection through the Internet. -0-
