Special app enables online buying of tickets for Golden Apricot film festival

YEREVAN, June 29. /ARKA/. Cult.am website and the organizing committee of the 13th Golden Apricot international film festival have developed a special application for smartphones enabling moviegoers to buy tickets online. Vladimir Khoetsyan, the founder of cult.am website, said the application will become available in a few days.

The 13th Golden Apricot film festival will be running in Yerevan from 10th to 17th of July. Some 135 films have been chosen for the competitive and non-competitive programs. This year’s guest of honor is a famous British actress Jacqueline Bisset.

This year, screenings of films will take place not only in Moskva, but also Cinema Star and Movie Park cinema houses.

Artistic director of the festival Susanna Harutyunyan said earlier that thanks to VivaCell-MTS telecom operator the ticket price is 500 drams.

The Golden Apricot has been held in Yerevan since 2004. The festival is organized with the support of the Armenian ministry of culture and VivaCell-MTS.

The festival’s guests of honor were world-famous actors and directors, including writer and screenwriter Tonino Guerra, actresses Claudia Cardinale, Fanny Ardant, Nastassja Kinski and Ornella Muti.

In 2010, the Golden Apricot film festival was awarded Ficts Plate D'honneur, the main prize of the International Union of Cinema, TV and Sports -0-
