Survey: 86% of soft in Armenian users' computers unlicensed
YEREVAN, September 22. /ARKA/. The large-scale 2016 Global Software Survey conducted by BSA shows that 86% of the soft installed in Armenian users' computers in 2015 were unlicensed.
According to Microsoft press office, the piracy degree remained unchanged in 2015, compared with the previous year and despite the risk of cyber attacks remains high, users in Armenia keeps installing and using intensively pirate software.
Microsoft says that 39% of the software installed all over the world in 2015 was unlicensed – 4% less than in 2016.
Microsoft Cyber Crime Center says 80% of users from the Commonwealth of Independent States underwent cyber attacks in 2015, and 97.5% of small and mid-scale businesses have faced cyber threats at least once over the year.
According to BSA Global Software Survey conducted once in every two years, computer piracy rate in Armenia stood at 86% in 2013 down since 2011.
Compared with 2007, when survey was conduced in Armenia for the first time, piracy rate shed by 7 percentage points.
The study shows that the total commercial cost of the unlicensed software installed in Armenia is $26 million, while in 2007 its cost amounted to $8 million. --0---
