Team Telecom Armenia: we started caring for nature with ourselves

YEREVAN, April 22. /ARKA/. Around the world, April 22 is celebrated as Earth Day. This year all events are centered around the theme “Planet vs Plastic”. Team Telecom Armenia summed up the work done during the year in the company in the direction of environmental protection, the company’s press service reports.

Implementation of energy efficient solutions

Team has been using energy-efficient solutions for several years, using solar energy for communications and power supply. In 2023, 8 more solar power plants were added to the 25 existing for use in the company's operations, thanks to which the share of solar products in total energy consumption recorded an increase of approximately 7% compared to the previous year. This process will be consistent across the company.

To encourage the use of electric vehicles, a network of Team Energy fast charging stations has been launched. Currently, there are about 50 stations operating throughout Armenia. To use charging stations, you need to download the Team Energy app.

In addition, the company also gives preference to electric vehicles in its fleet: the share of vehicles with silent engines and zero emissions is 14%.

The team's strategic plan to build the NGN network replaces copper cables with a fiber optic network, significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions. It is also noted that as a result of the launch of this network in 2023 alone, the company saved 275,630 kWh of electricity.

Waste reduction and sustainability

The company repairs and reuses communication devices to avoid the generation of electronic waste (e-waste). Thus, in 2023, more than 14 thousand electronic telecommunications devices did not end up in landfills, but were repaired, upgraded and reused.

Paper recycling volumes increased by 36% compared to last year, and by implementing the eSIM service the company avoided the use of approximately 600 kg of plastic, recording an annual increase of 57% in plastic avoided. To avoid the accumulation of paper waste, E-pen technology (electronic pen) is also available in all Team branches.

At the same time, through the My Team application, only today, Shake members can win energy-saving LED lamps and wireless chargers.
