‘Tvapatum 2016’ discusses creation of journalistic stories in digital age
YEREVAN, September 23. /ARKA/. The second media conference "Tvapatum 2016" (Digistory 2016) kicked off on Friday in Yerevan with the support of ArmenTel (trading as Beeline) telecom provider. The two-day event is a joint imitative of the Center for Media Initiatives, USAID and OSCE Office in Yerevan. The main sponsor is Beeline.
"Tvapatum is a new word that we coined last year, and we are pleased that it is being used and becoming popular. I want to congratulate all on the 25th anniversary of Armenia's independence. No country can be independent without a free press,’ the executive director of the Center for Media Initiatives, Sune Sargsyan, said.
The conference has brought to Armenia leading media experts from, Russia, Ukraine and the United Kingdom who are discussing with Armenian peers modern media trends, the emergence of new tools in journalism, and creation of journalistic stories in the digital age.
"This year, we are focused on the most important topics- conflicts, investigative journalism and the Panamanian documents", said Sargsyan.
Beeline CEO Andrei Pyatakhin said: "I personally was convinced many times that such events are a unique environment for the exchange of experience. I am sure that" Tvapatum "will promote the use of international experience and achievements by Armenia I am confident also that thanks to our promotion the event will be even more effective,' Pyatakhin said.
