Ucom launches first qr library in Armenia
YEREVAN, May 3. /ARKA/. Ucom telecom provider said Monday it has launched the first QR Library in Armenia.
The cylindrical rotary structure with a diameter of one meter and a height of 260 cm is installed in the courtyard of the State Economic University of Armenia. It shows QR-codes of e-books in the university library.
By using the QR reader application the students can download to their smartphones and other electronic devices PDF versions of these books. In addition, the e-library includes such teaching materials and aids, which sometimes can not be found in an ordinary library.
"In the digital age our young people need new ideas and we by supporting these ideas should help them improve the level of their education," Ucom CEO Hayk Yesayan is quoted as saying in a company press release.
Ucom (Universal Communications) was founded in 2007. It is engaged in providing telecommunications services. With assistance from Ericsson, the company created a broadband access network, providing Internet services, IP-TV and fixed telephony. In 2015 September it acquired Orange Armenia, a subsidiary of France Telecom.-0-
