UEICT AND Armenian education ministry to sign memorandum of intentions
YEREVAN, June 27. /ARKA/. The Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies (UEICT) and the Armenian education and science ministry will sign a memorandum of intentions, the union’s press office reported Saturday after Levon Mkrtchyan, education and science minister met with representatives of the union member companies.
Joint programs aimed at enhancing professional skills of ICT specialists were discussed at the meeting.
A pilot program implying introduction of microelectronics, telecommunication and information technology as obligatory curricula in schools was presented to the minister.
Armen Baldryan, the head of the Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies, said that the program has already been put into practice in five schools and has produced good results.
“Now we are planning to implement the program in other ten schools,” he said.
It was decided at the meeting to convene a joint ICT education conference, which will give an opportunity to employers and education establishments to strengthen ties.
The Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies was registered in September 2015.
The aim of the union is to protect employers’ rights in the ICT sector, to strengthen cooperation among them and to promote development of entrepreneurship and establishment of new organizations in the sector. --0----
