Virtual 3D tours of Armenia available for iOS now
YEREVAN, December 26. /ARKA/. The virtual 3D tours of Armenia and Artsakh called “Armenian Treasures” is not available for iOS platforms as well, says the press office of Locator Co. that is the sponsor of the project.
“Armenian Treasures” can be downloaded from AppStore, where 3D tours of Tatev, Ghazanchetsots, Gandzasar, Garni and Geghard are available today, according to the report.
A pilot “tour” of Tatev Monastery is offered to users. Other tours cost $0.99 each.
A total of about $300,000 was spent on the project, some $25-30,000 per tour. Most recent technologies, including the “augmented reality”, were used in developing the application.
Tours of nine churches have been completed, but developers plan to cover some 40,000 monasteries and churches by the end of the project.
The voice-overs for the tours in Armenian, Russian and English are performed in cooperation with the ministry of culture of Armenia.
