Welbeck to build data center in Armenia
YEREVAN, November 10. /ARKA/. Welbeck-AM will invest $2 million in the construction of the Data Center in Armenia, deputy minister of economic development and investments Garegin Melkonyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.
The government granted today the company a permission to operate in the Alliance free economic zone.
"The company plans to build a Data Center within two years by introducing server and network equipment that will serve foreign companies," Melkonyan said.
The deputy minister stressed that, according to the company's business plan, its exports within 5 years will reach $5 million per year.
Armenia has currently two free economic zones- Alliance ( high and information technologies) and Meridian (jewelry industry).
The aggregate investments of companies in Armenian free economic zones as of mid-2016 exceeded $123 million. -0-
