Winner of Rostelecom Armenia’s contest for students may attend classes in company
YEREVAN, July 20. /ARKA/. Rostelecom in Armenia has announced the results of ‘New Opportunities for Students’ contest, where 20 students from seven local universities competed for the right to attend three-month education classes in Rostelecom for free, and if achieve success here, will be offered a job in the company, the press office of the company reported on Tuesday.
Rostelecom Armenia CEO Hayk Faramazyan is quoted in the press release as saying that he is convinced that high-qualified specialists and personnel are shaped from students.
“Thanks to our project students become self-reliant, get familiar with work in large companies and this is very important for their careers,” he said adding that five of the previous year’s participants are already working for Rostelecom.
Not only the winner, but also other creative participants of the project who proved to be smart and displayed ability to work in teams were employed by the company as well.
Rostelecom has conducted its ‘New Opportunities for Students’ contest for the second time.
This year the project attracted 20 three- and four-year bachelor students as well as master degree seekers from seven universities attended one-month interactive classes.
Seminars were organized for participants of the project. They learned about peculiarities of working at Rostelecom. Communication, marketing, brand, legal aspects and sale skill curricula were provided to them.
Rostelecom’s Armenian subsidiary GNC-ALFA began promotion and sale of broadband Internet, IP-TV and a new generation of IP-telephony in Armenia under the brand of Rostelecom from 2012 December.
The company’s fiber-optic network covers 80% of the territory of Armenia, extending to more about 2,500 km. The network is connected to the main regional backbones and major traffic exchange sites, as well as international channels via Georgia and Iran. --0----
