Yerevan municipality launches transport.yerevan.am
YEREVAN, August 14. /ARKA/. Yerevan’s deputy mayor Vahe Nikoyan announced at a press conference on Friday the launch of an electronic platform designed to help elaborate a major project to reform the public transportation system in the Armenian capital city.
"We are launching the website ‘ transport.yerevan.am ", where everyone can not only get acquainted with the process of discussing and creating a reform project, but also take part in this process by registering on the website and offering their ideas," Nikoyan explained.
According to him, then the proposals will be submitted for public discussion. The results will be available on the website. Nikoyan said also the municipality is determined to expand the use of modern technologies in the field of transport.
"Apart from electronic boards at bus stops informing about the arrival of buses, applications for smartphones will be developed allowing to trace online the movement of buses. ‘Citizens should be able to plan their travels from home to the end point with minimal time waste,' concluded Nikoyan.
The reform project is estimated to cost $100 million. -0-
