Armenian government proposes to extend startup IT companies’ tax preferences validity term
YEREVAN, December 16. /ARKA/. At its regular Thursday’s session, the Armenian Cabinet ministers proposed amendments to the law on public support for IT industry.
The amendments imply prolongation of the validity of tax preferences for startup IT companies, which expires on January 1, 2020.
Tigran Khachatryan, deputy minister of economic development and investments, said that the validity deadline expires on January 2020 but companies which will apply for registration before December 1, 2017 will enjoy five-year tax preferences that will come into force on January 1, 2018.
“We find this norm very productive, since many new active IT companies have been registered over a period of the law validity, and we think that there preferences will spur IT industry,” he said. -0---
