4G+/ LTE Advanced coverage available across Armenia
YEREVAN, September 17. /ARKA/. The 4G+/ LTE Advanced technology coverage has been extended across Armenia, the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) said in a statement.
It said MTS Armenia CJSC, which won a tender announced by PSRC for the provision of 800 MHz radio frequencies, ensures the coverage with 4G +/ LTE Advanced technology for 99.9% of settlements in Armenia (1,002 urban and rural settlements).
"Taking into account that Ucom telecom operator ensures the availability of 4G + / LTE Advanced mobile technology coverage for 88.2% (885 settlements) of settlements, at present 100% of settlements in Armenia are provided with 4G + / LTE Advanced coverage by at least one mobile operator," according to the statement.
At the same time, PSRC noted that 88.1% of the settlements (884 settlements) are provided with 4G + / LTE coverage from two mobile operators. In addition, in 36 settlements (including 23 towns) there is also the 4G + technology coverage by VEON Armenia CJSC, which in terms of population coverage is 55.5% (more than 1,640,000 people).
Armenia has three mobile telecom operators. Ucom, being one of the leaders in the Armenian telecommunications market, provides the full range of services, including high-speed symmetric Internet, IP-TV and digital telephony.
VEON Armenia CJSC (trading as Beeline in Armenia) provides fixed and mobile communication services.
VivaCell-MTS (K-Telecom CJSC) has been operating in the Armenian market since 2005. It is owned Russian Mobile Telesystems OJSC (MTS) (80%) and Lebanese Fatouch Group. -0-
