Microsoft, Armenian Education Ministry to cooperate in higher education area
YEREVAN, May 3. /ARKA/. Microsoft Corporation’s office in Armenia and Armenian Education and Science Ministry signed today an agreement to cooperate in education area.
The agreement was signed by Acting Education Minister Armen Ashotyan, Takuya Hirano, General Manager for Microsoft’s Central and Eastern European Multi-Country region, and Grikor Barseghyan, Head of Microsoft’s office in Armenia.
Ashotyan said that the agreement had been signed to expand the use of Microsoft products in Armenia’s universities.
Barseghyan, on his side, said that his office is constantly cooperating with the education and science ministry.
“Once, this cooperation was limited to secondary education area, but now we reach a higher level – we’ll target also higher-education establishments,” he added.
This agreement gives Armenian universities’ students an opportunity to use the corporation’s programs and instruments, such as Microsoft Live@edu/Office 365, Microsoft office Web Apps, Windows Live SkyDrive, Microsoft DreamSpark, Outlock Live email etc, and to take part in Microsoft IT Academy programs.
On January 30, 2007, the Armenian government and Microsoft Corporation signed an agreement in Edinburgh (Scotland) to implement some investment, education and innovation projects. -0--
