Team LLC to introduce in Yerevan New Generation Network

YEREVAN, December 4. /ARKA/. Team LLC (TEAM.Telecom Armenia brand) intends to introduce in Yerevan the New Generation Network, the optical network which will change the perceptions of Armenian consumers about digital services, Hayk Yesayan, co-owner of Team LLC, which recently acquired VEON Armenia company (Beeline brand), said Thursday at a press conference.

"The work has already begun, and in 3 months we will have a new optical network in Yerevan. We are creating a new New Generation Network, which will make it possible to provide up to 10 Gbps (Internet) speed in any apartment," he said.

Yesayan stressed that it will be easier to re-equip this network in the future than any other networks in the country.

He also said that another new direction of development that Beeline did not have is the transit direction, and it already operates and provides services to other countries. Thus, transit traffic is already passing through Armenia to Iraq via Beeline channels.

“Within a month, we developed a new strategic direction, which is very important for both the company and the country,” he said.

On October 29, 2020, the world's flagship provider of communications and Internet services VEON Ltd. announced the conclusion of an agreement on the sale of his Armenian subsidiary VEON Armenia CJSC (Beeline brand) to the Team company. VEON said that the deal is in line with the company's desire to simplify the Group's structure and strengthen its operational orientation in markets with attractive opportunities for long-term growth.

On November 16, the company noted that VEON Armenia received a new legal name - Telecom Armenia CJSC, but for now it will continue to act and provide services under the Beeline brand.

Team LLC (brand TEAM.Telecom Armenia) was founded by brothers Hayk and Alexander Yesayan (they were founders, shareholders and long-term managers of Ucom operator, but left the company due to disagreements with other shareholders). The new company was registered on April 20, 2020 under the name AllNet, then renamed into OJSC Team and received a license from the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) to operate in the telecommunications sector. --0--
