Two venture it forums to take place in Armenia in May
YEREVAN, April 20. /ARKA/. Two venture IT forums will take place in Armenia on May 4 and 5, Bagrat Yengibaryan, the head of Enterprise Incubator Foundation, told ARKA News Agency on Wednesday.
“As many as 24 projects will be presented for up-to-$50,000 financing on May 4 and 15 projects for up-to-$15,000,” he said.
Asked by ARKA News Agency how he assesses development of IT industry in Armenia for the past year, Yengibaryan said that the country’s IT sector accounts for good results every year.
In his words, the industry records a 20-percent growth, on average, every year.
He pointed out that interesting structural changes were seen this year – two new big companies embarked on development of their own solutions.
A new segment – intellectual intellect began developing in Armenia.
“A new page making it possible to improve positions in the world with using own mathematical knowledge and without using any laboratory was opened for Armenians,” Yengibaryan said.
He stressed that Armenia’s IT industry shouldn’t be satisfied with what has already been achieved – it still has plenty to do.
It is necessary, he said, to continue large-scale development, establish many Armenian IT organizations, which will be known all over the world, not only in the region. --0---
