Bringing transnational corporations to Armenia a government priority – deputy minister
YEREVAN, July 29. / ARKA /. Bringing transnational corporations to Armenia is one of the main priorities of Armenia's economy, deputy economy minister Emil Tarasyan said today when addressing the first gathering of Oracle Armenian Users Group in Yerevan.
"We attach great importance to introduction of new technologies and exchange of experience. Development of information technology has been and remains the focus of the government. We pay great attention to public-private partnership principle. Under this principle, we try to design and implement numerous partnership programs, attracting multinational companies," he said.
He said that in addition to this, the most important priorities for the government are promotion of business and creation of new jobs.
The Memorandum of Understanding between Oracle and the government of Armenia was signed on 13 September 2013. It envisages assistance in the development of IT skills in Armenia through Oracle’s educational programs, assessment and increased use of Oracle solutions by government agencies, as well as creating a center of excellence in Armenia.
Oracle was founded in 1977 in the United States. -0-
