Toshiba corp. wants to sell chip unit
YEREVAN, August 11. /ARKA/. Toshiba Corp. disclosed that it has reopened negotiations with Foxconn Technology and Western Digital Corp. over the sale of the company's chip unit, www.thestreet.com reported.
The company had previously said that a Japanese-led group was in the lead position in negotiations.
The disclosure could indicate the company is having trouble selling the unit, which Toshiba has said is necessary for the company to continue to operate after its nuclear unit Westinghouse went bankrupt.
Analysts have said that the unit could fetch as much as $18 billion. -0-
