Experts propose solutions to problems in Armenia’s IT industry
YEREVAN, February 14. /ARKA/. The Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises of Armenia (UATE) held Wednesday a meeting with representatives of IT companies, who described the problems they face in their activity. They singled out the lack of ties among organizations as their key problem.
It was proposed at the meeting to create a platform for establishing ties among advanced technology companies.
As the second major problem, they pointed out the shortage of specialists in Armenia’s IT industry – the thing is that employers are trying to find all necessary skills at a single person instead of employing a few specialists for various jobs.
Some participants of the meeting find the teaching methodology in universities wrong – very often universities don’t release skilled specialists.
Karen Vardanyan, the executive director of the union, confirming that the IT industry is in want of skilled specialists, said that the problem can be solved by using a program that will unite the best students all over the country.
The organizations that need specialists will be able to invite them for trainings, and after these trainings they will employ them.
Vardanyan also said that the union’s main strategy is education. “The problems will be solved within six years,” he said without going into details.
Speaking about creation of platforms for discussing problems, Vardanyan said that various committees exist for that.
“If an organization want to take part in a discussion, but doesn’t want to become members of the union, we are ready to hold special meetings,” he said. -0---
