Intel to open research center in Armenia

YEREVAN, September 5. /ARKA/.  Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received  today the regional director of Intel Corporation Christian Morales. “There are good preconditions for Intel to carry out intensive activities in Armenia, and we are ready for bilateral cooperation,” he was quoted as saying by the government press office.

Christian Morales praised the pace of IT development in Armenia and said, that Intel is interested in expanding its activities in the country.
Then the sides addressed implementation works of the research center established by Intel in Armenia. A working group has already been created to develop the common conceptual approaches of the initiative, decide the necessary investment volume and define the involvement format of each of the sides.

It was stated that the center would be a research laboratory, based on Intel’s R&D technologies.
The sides also discussed issues related to development and signing processes of a memorandum of cooperation, within the framework of the 5th annual Armenian high-tech “ArmTech Congress-12”, taking place on November 14-15 in Silicon Valley, U.S.  -0-
