Rules for pricing of roaming calls in EEU to be adopted by the end of 2024
YEREVAN, March 29. /ARKA/. Rules for pricing of roaming calls across the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) will be adopted by the end of 2024, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reports.
The EEC has already developed draft pricing rules. At the moment, there are still several issues concerning the calculation of roaming prices. First of all, it is necessary to establish the amount of such prices or the period during which fair prices will apply. Besides, it should be taken into account that mobile operators have different technical capabilities to regulate the preferential price.
It is planned that after harmonizing technical issues, the parties will approve the levels of reduction of international interconnect rates for roaming calls and inter-operator roaming prices.
"We aim to create such conditions that citizens of the EEU states use communication at home prices. The level of home prices will be determined by companies independently, taking into account the balance of interests of mobile operators and consumers," said Alexey Sushkevich, Director of the EEC Antimonopoly Regulation Department. -0-
