UITE to introduce ArMath labs in Artsakh schools
YEREVAN, January 22. /ARKA/. Under a memorandum of cooperation signed by the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) of Armenia and the ministry of education, science and sports of the Artsakh Republic (Nagorno-Karabakh), UITE will introduce primary engineering education at Artsakh schools through ArMath engineering laboratories.
The memorandum was signed by UITE executive director Karen Vardanyan and Artsakh minister of education, science and sports Narine Aghabalyan.
UITE said in a news release that considering its successful experience in the introduction of more than 220 engineering ArMath laboratories in Armenia and Artsakh, as well as unprecedented demand for IT employees around the world, the parties to the memorandum will be able to attract both state and private investments for the establishment of ArMath laboratories in Artsakh.
At present, the ArMath network includes more than 220 engineering laboratories, of which nine are in Artsakh. The education in the engineering laboratory is free.
After signing the memorandum, the representatives of UITE and the Artsakh ministry visited the Norashen community, where they officially opened the 9th ArMath laboratory in Artsakh.
In December 2017, UITE provided the Norashen's school with some of the necessary equipment for the lab, the rest of the equipment was donated by several companies, such as the Nazaryan Educational Center, Instigate, PicsArt, Ucom, X-Tech, Essential Solutions, LimeTech, E- Works, FimeTech and private donors.
More than 220 ArMath laboratories operate in Armenia, embracing about 5 thousand schoolchildren. ArMath laboratories won two international awards in 2016: "Steady Development" and "The Best Provider of Technical Education".
UITE was founded in 2000 with the aim of protecting the economic interests of ICT companies, stimulating business development and encouraging research in the IT field. --0--
