10th Digitec-2017 to focus on defense, tourism, artificial intelligence and all-Armenian network

YEREVAN, May 24. /ARKA/. The 10th DigiTec-2017 business forum, entitled Smart Solutions for Intelligent Business, will be held in Yerevan on June 9-10, Alexander Yesayan, the president of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE), told journalists today. 

According to him, the purpose of the business forum is to promote the introduction of information and telecommunication technologies in various sectors of the Armenian economy.

He said apart from topical IT areas, the gathering will discuss also a set of issues concerning the preparation for the World Congress on Information Technologies (WCIT), which will be held in Armenia in 2019.
He said hosting WCIT opens great opportunities for Armenia in terms of presenting its IT potential and opportunities, as about 200 world leaders of the sector will come to Armenia.

For his part, UITE Executive Director Karen Vardanyan noted that the main topics of the forum will be defense, tourism, artificial intelligence, creation of the All-Armenian network and renewable energy.
According to him, the forum participants will also discuss opportunities to increase the productivity of small and medium-sized businesses through the use of IT solutions.

"Artificial intelligence issues will be discussed separately, as this is one of the most actively developing markets, and Armenia can occupy a certain niche in it," Vardanyan said.

Some 1000 people took part in the DigiTec business forum last year. DigiTec Forum was first organized in 2008 by the Union of Information Technology Enterprises under the patronage of the prime minister of Armenia. --0--
