ArmenTel lowers fixed line prices
YEREVAN, July 29. / ARKA /. Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) has lowered today ArmenTel telecom’s prices of fixed-line services.
Under PSRC’s decision, a minute of long distance call across Armenia and to fixed-line numbers in Nagorno-Karabakh will cost 5 drams (including VAT) for individual customers, down from the current 20 drams during the daytime. The night time price will be 14 drams.
The price cut is effective also for corporate customers, which pay now 24 and 16.8 drams respectively.
Prices for local calls starting with the 1,601 minutes will be reduced from the current 9 drams to 5 drams per minute (including VAT). The new prices come into force from September 1, 2014.
"We have invested a lot in building sufficient capacity to support the traffic between cities. It is very important that we are a national operator, working also in all remote villages. Now we are sure that we have enough capacity and traffic to support growth, so that people continue using fixed connection,’ ArmenTel CEO, Andrei Pyatakhin told ARKA.
"We believe that more people will start using fixed-line services to make calls between regional centers in Armenia. We try to be closer to our customers and make it easier for them to use the fixed connection,’ he said.
ArmenTel is a 100 percent subsidiary of Russian VimpelCom providing fixed and mobile telephony services as well as high-speed Internet connection. ($1-406.52 drams).-0-
