Beeline completes digitalization of Armenpress archive
YEREVAN, October 12. /ARKA/. Beeline Telecommunication Company, Armenpress News Agency and the Technology Development Center have digitalized 10,000 photographs from the news agency’s archive, the telecommunication company’s press office reported on Thursday.
The digitalization came as part of the project “Armenpress. History”.
All the photos are available on the website. Beeline is general sponsor of the project.
“Completion of this project means that centuries long records of our country’s history are already widely available,” Andrey Pyatakhin, Beeline CEO in Armenia, is quoted in the press release. “This is a very important job for preserving and studying history.”
It is very symbolic, he said, that technologies of the future have been used for preserving the past. This means that it has become possible to maintain connection with the past.
ArmenTel telecommunication company (trading as Beeline) recently changed its legal name to VEON Armenia CJSC. It said also the Beeline trademark will not be changed.
