Defence ministry to select talented conscripts ‘to confront modern cyber security challenges’
YEREVAN, June 29. / ARKA /. Armenia’s defence ministry said in a statement today that it has set up a special commission that will be checking conscripts to sel ect talented young men with excellent computer programming skills ‘to confront modern-day cyber security challenges.’
"Given the challenges that exist in the field of cyber security, the Armenian defence ministry and the Yerevan Institute of Mathematical Machines have initiated a project to establish a Cyber Security Center, whose goal will be to most effectively use the IT skills of servicemen to create and implement high-tech solutions in the security system through cooperation with private companies and educational institutions,' the statement says.
The Cyber Security Center will start operations from the third quarter of 2015. The special commission comprises representatives of the ministry of defence and highly skilled IT professionals fr om the Yerevan Institute of Mathematical Machines, Synopsis, Unicomp, Ucom, T&S Dynamics, MIC – Center and Maysis companies.
The commission will also include representatives of the Central Bank of Armenia, Mentor Graphics, PicsArt, Synergy, BetConstruct, Rafa Solutions, OneMarketData, Antel, ISPRAS and X-Tech..-0-
