Rostelecom’s coverage over 80% in Yerevan – head of the company
YEREVAN, September 17. /ARKA/. Rostelecom’s network coverage has recently exceeded 80% in Yerevan, the general director of GNC-ALFA (trading as Rostelecom) Hayk Faramazyan told reporters on Tuesday.
The company provided 80% coverage in multi-apartment blocks in Yerevan and has been launching connections in the downtown since May, Farmazyan said.
Only Arabkir and Shengavit communities remain to be connected and are included in the business plan to be approved, he said.
According to Farmazyan, the company has already built some 100,000 lines across the country, and the aim is to ensure active connections and network expansion.
The company also plans to offer new and innovation technologies soon, to make promotional and tariff package offers, Farmazyan said.
Rostelecom has made large-scale investments in Armenia since 2012 and provides services in more than 18 towns across the country and nine communities in Yerevan.
The company has recently built a 40Gbyte/sec ring network that allows providing uninterrupted and high-speed Internet access in the capital.
GNC-ALFA is an Armenian subsidiary of Russia’s Rostelecom. The company started providing broadband access to Internet and telephony services at Armenia’s mass market in 2012.
Now GNC-ALFA provides also interactive television for individuals. –0--
