Total number of downloads from App Armenia exceeds 120,000

YEREVAN, June 30. /ARKA/. The total number of downloads from App Armenia platform developed by Beeline and the Technology Development Center have exceeded 120,000 in early January 2015, ArmenTel (Beeline) telecommunication company's press office reported on Monday. 

The press office says that App Armenia mobile application is bestseller in App Store and Google Play shops.

According to the press release, more than 35,000 wallpapers, 45,000 ringtones, 15,000 notifications and 31,000 other applications have been downloaded since the beginning of this year. 
 
App Armenia platform and application were launched on December 20, 2014.

The mobile application provides access to various mobile contents. There are already more than 250 other applications, 1,360 wallpapers, 1,960 ringtones and 520 sound notification files. 

«Beeline was one of the first to assume the role of locomotive in development of mobile applications and Armenian language mobile content,» Andrey Pyatakhin, CEO of Beeline in Armenia, is quoted in the press release. «Taking into account our foreign colleagues' experience, we, in cooperation with local developers, have managed to create App Armenia platform, to launch other applications and to organize round-table discussions and forums. We are happy that all these efforts are laying groundwork today for further development of the mobile content industry in the country.»

Samvel Chakhalyan, head of the Technology Development Center, is quoted in the press release as saying that thanks to App Armenia, the number of downloads of many Armenian language applications has reached several thousand, and that shows that this platform has become a real accelerator of development of the industry of mobile projects and applications in Armenia. 

«We continue developing the project, filling it with Armenian language content and high-quality photos and videos,» he said. 

App Armenia system consists of two components - Web and Mobile. 

Web is www.app.am website that offers users to register and display their own posters and sound files on the created pages, and the second component, mobile application, makes it possible to use the whole content of www.app.am website.  

App Armenia mobile application is available for the phones that operate on Android and iOS systems. It may be downloaded to Play Store and App Store. App Armenia project is aimed at development of Armenian language mobile content. 

ArmenTel CJSC, a subsidiary of Russian VimpelCom (trading as Beeline), provides fixed and mobile telecommunication services (about 650,000 and more than 780,000 subscribers respectively) and a high-speed access to Internet. --0--
