Union of ICT employers set up in Armenia
YEREVAN, November 23. /ARKA/. Armenia-based information and communications technology (ICT) companies have set up their union of employers. The news was announced by Arsen Ghazaryan, the head of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (Employers) of Armenia, at a news conference today.
He said the new organization will seek greater cooperation with educational and social structures in various economic sectors to contribute to more efficient development of the ICT sphere. According to him, the new organization is supposed to raise Armenia's competitiveness in the ICT sector.
Armen Baldryan, the head of the new organization (he is president of Unicomp company) said the new union's activities will be aimed at recruiting new financial markets in the ICT sector.
"The use of innovative financing instruments, which contribute to the emergence of new start-up companies as well as help businesses feel more stable in working with foreign partners is very important,' said Baldryan.
He also noted that the new union intends to cooperate with all the educational institutions involved in the preparation of IT specialists.
The Union of ICT Employers was officially registered in September this year. Its activities are aimed at representing and protecting the interests of ICT employers, as well as strengthening cooperation between them. The union is expected to contribute to the development of SMEs and creation of favorable conditions for their activities. -0-
