Winner of Armenian national qualifying round of imagine cup 2014 contest to represent country in Seattle
YEREVAN, April 17. / ARKA /. The winner of the Armenian national qualifying round of Imagine Cup- 2014 contest will represent the country at the international finale, scheduled to take place in Seattle (USA) in July, Microsoft Innovation Center in Armenia said.
The purpose of the contest is to encourage students to develop new software IT solutions that will stimulate innovations and solutions to global challenges. In 2014, the contest is being held in the categories "Games" , "Innovations", and "Citizen of the World." The winner in each category will receive a cash prize of $3,000.
"Although the contest is designed for university students, however, Armenian citizens aged 16 and over can participate in it as authors of ideas or team coordinators (mentor)," Microsoft Innovation Center in Armenia said in a statement .
Applications for the national qualifying round are accepted until April 25 at www.micarmenia.am and www.imaginecup.am/. This year they should be submitted as three-minute video presentations.
The winner of the Imagine Cup in Seattle will receive a cash prize of $50,000. The Armenian national contest is coordinated by Microsoft Armenia and Microsoft Innovation Center.
The Imagine Cup is an annual worldwide student technology competition focused around Microsoft technology and encouraging young people to apply their imagination, their passion, and their creativity to technology innovations that can make a difference in the world. The competition has been running for 12 years now. Armenia has participated in the previous six contests. -0-
